Electric violinist from New York performs for Potter music students

FALLBROOK – Megan Berson, a professional freelance electric violin player from New York City, performed and demonstrated her computer software skills to the music students at Potter Junior High School recently.

Berson performed a variety of music and demonstrated the versatility of her electric violin which was connected to her laptop computer. The computer allowed Berson to record a loop of music and accompany herself with rhythm and various back

up sounds.

Students said they were impressed with the integration of the acoustic violin with the digital equipment. Berson is visiting from her home in New York City, where she performs in her band Lunic and a variety of freelance jobs including orchestral, jazz, rock and studio recording performances. Berson is the aunt of Potter Intermediate Band member Catherine Bryant. The band, as well as other music classes, is under the direction of music teacher, Phil Leonelli.
