Bonsall man's body found at bottom of swimming pool

BONSALL - A man who was pulled from the bottom of a swimming pool at a Bonsall residence today was pronounced dead shortly after, sheriff's officials said.

The man's wife last saw her husband about 8 p.m. Friday and thought friends had picked him up to go out. She looked for him throughout the night, according to sheriff's Lt. J.T. Faulkner.

The woman found her husband in the deep end of the pool in the 6700 block of Camino del Rey, near Virgin Islands Road, about 4:10 p.m., Faulkner said. She could not swim and was unable to help the man, Faulkner said.

Deputies and fire personnel responded and the man was pulled from the pool. He was pronounced dead about 4:30 p.m., Faulkner said.

The county Medical Examiner's Officer would determine the man's cause of death, Faulkner said.
