    On December 5, the Fallbrook Pop Warner Jr. Midget Warriors travelled to Lake Havasu, Ariz. for the River Bowl 2009 game against the Lake Havasu Chiefs (8-2). The Lake Havasu team was the Arizona Conference Champion and was one game away from playing for a National Championship bid in Florida.     Here’s a small recap of the Pop Warner season now that it is over. Player registrations got off to a chilly start at Cold Stone Creamery, but ended up in the green after the Avocado Festival. A couple of Board Directors, including the President, tendered their resignations; the remaining members held down the fort.     Fallbrook High School’s girls soccer team lost in overtime to Mount Carmel in the Limited Division championship match of the Barons-Howie Classic tournament. “That was a pretty exciting game,” said Fallbrook coach Kevin Koptieff.     FALLBROOK – A major water main that runs under the San Luis Rey River could cost as much as $4 million to repair according to a study completed by consultants working for the Rainbow Municipal Water District. The pipe ruptured in the early morning hours of December 8 after a heavy rain. The 22-inch steel line was built in 1995 and delivers water to the district’s service area south of SR 76; one remaining pipe now provides that service. We have all ages of volunteers – from teenagers to super seniors – working hard at least one day a week so that others can have a little more food to eat and clothing to wear.
