Teacher of the Year deadline nears

Teachers’ Insurance Plan, an auto insurance program exclusively for educators (underwritten in California by Response Insurance Company), announced that time is running out to nominate the California 2004-2005 “Teacher of the Year.” The award will include $1,000 to the winning teacher in the state and a $500 grant to that teacher’s school. The state winner will also be eligible for the National Award, which includes a special recognition and a $2,500 travel certificate.

The deadline for submissions is February 28 and nomination forms can be found online at http://www.teachers.com.

Teachers, students and parents can nominate any of California’s more than 300,000 accredited teachers. To nominate an educator — or yourself — tell Teachers’ Insurance Plan, in 250 words or less, why this teacher should be the Teacher of the Year. Nominees will be judged on their ability to motivate students, their special talents, their experience and any awards or recognitions they have received.

Winners will be announced during Teacher Appreciation Week in May.
