Royals place first in competition

The Fallbrook Royals, a competitive cheer and stunt squad, traveled to Palm Springs to participate in the National Athletic Championship Cheer. Stunt and dance competitions were held on April 9-10 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The cheer and stunt squad consists of nine girls, ages 9-13, from the Fallbrook, Bonsall and Oceanside areas.

The Royals won first place, National Championship and Best of Show. They were awarded a team four-foot trophy, a National Championship Banner and a National Championship hooded sweatshirt for each girl. The Royals will travel to Covina and Pomona for the Sharp International Cheer & Stunting competition in June. The Covina competition was won by this squad last year.

The girls owe the honors to their coach, Jennifer Beccera, the captain of Fallbrook Warrior High School Varsity Cheer. Tryouts will take place in September. For more information call Miss Tammy at (760) 724-1050 or Carol at (760) 731-0417.
