Athletes excel in Lift-a-Thon

The Lift-a-Thon fundraiser for the Fallbrook Warriors was a successful event with the Warriors pushing themselves to accomplish their own personal bests. The morale was high as the boys came into the gymnasium to start the event. Marc Steffler, the evening’s emcee, had the capacity crowd cheering and encouraging the athletes in their lifts.

Booster Club President Kelley Holt started the event by announcing the intent of funds for this fundraiser. The proceeds from the Lift-a-Thon and the golf tournament will be going toward new uniforms for the Warrior team. It seems the Warrior Boosters really have it together and plan to give the boys what they need for this upcoming season.

Coach Madden, who was head coach for the spring practice, was given a signed jersey by the team for his efforts in providing the Warrior team with a coach. After receiving the signed jersey, Madden addressed the crowd, saying, “I am filled with praise and gratitude for this group of athletes I have been so very fortunate to work with these past few weeks.”

Coach Morrow was awarded a signed football from the 115 athletes who have come out for the upcoming season. The athletes thanked Morrow for “stepping up during this unusual situation.”

The intensity could be felt by all as the athletes started to lift weights for the evening. Athletes and coaches screamed and yelled for the Warrior team to encourage them to break their own personal records.

The highlighted lifts of the evening were:

• Cody McDole with the top lift of 305 lbs

• Ray Valdez, 300 lbs

• Danny Munoz, 290 lbs

• Brian Rasmussen, 275 lbs

• Jake Krok, 230 lbs

• Matt Napier, 210 lbs for the light-weight category
