Virginia Anne Lentz, 87

Virginia Anne Lentz, 87, passed away November 27, 2006, in Fallbrook, CA. Born in Chicago, IL, on August 22, 1919, she was a 26-year resident of Fallbrook.

A graduate of Wilcox College in Cleveland, OH, Mrs. Lentz worked as a secretary during WWII, a bookkeeper, a World Book sales representative and a homemaker.

Mrs. Lentz volunteered with Project CARE of Fallbrook and as a costume mistress with the Old Globe Theater and a swim instructor with the Red Cross. She was a member of the Angel Society of Fallbrook, Christ The King Lutheran Church of Fallbrook and the Fallbrook Woman’s Club and both a member and volunteer of the Fallbrook Hospital Auxiliary. In addition, she served as announcer at the Joselyn Senior Center and was a two-year board member and treasurer of Oak Crest Estates. She also contributed her poems monthly to the Senior Chronicle.

Mrs. Lentz was preceded in death by husband Harmon Lentz in February 1991, husband Everett Henry “Kelly” Schroeder in December 1991, mother Anne E. Leyden and father Walter T. Leyden. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Gene & Nancy Schroeder, Rocklin, CA, and Joel & Joanne Schroeder, Santee, CA; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2006, at Berry-Bell & Hall Mortuary Chapel in Fallbrook. Funeral will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2006, at Christ The King Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, CA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Mrs. Lentz’s memory to Christ The King, Joselyn Senior Center, the Angel Society of Fallbrook or the Fallbrook Hospital Auxiliary.
