Teddy Cummins

Teddy Cummins, 74, passed away December 1, 2006, in San Bernardino, CA. He was born February 23, 1932, in Capitan, NM. He was a resident of Fallbrook for 30 years.

Mr. Cummins was a graduate of Pasadena Nazarene College, where he was a member of the legendary “Firehouse Five” basketball team; he was best known for his crafty ball handling, with an average of stealing the ball seven times per game. He spent three years in the Army stationed in Alaska. Mr. Cummins graduated from Fuller Seminary with a Master’s in divinity and then pastored for 12 years in captivating style.

After moving his family to Fallbrook in 1976, Mr. Cummins spent some time in real estate, specifically as owner of Red Carpet Realty on Main Avenue for a time. Gradually, his business took him into grove management full-time as owner of Cummins Grove Care. He had been caring for Fallbrook groves for approximately 25 years. Teddy loved a good joke and was a dynamite storyteller!

Mr. Cummins was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Bessie Cummins of Capitan, NM, and sister Geraldine McClung of San Jose, CA.

He is survived by four adult children, Sea Ganschow and son-in-law Will Ganschow, Portland, OR, Kimberly Love, San Marcos, CA, Kristen Cummins, Hollywood, CA, and Tim Cummins, Hayfork, CA; four grandchildren, Alex Ganschow, Ezekiel Ganschow, Sophia Ganschow and Christian Cummins; and brother and sister-in-law Hollis and Gloria Cummins of Albuquerque, NM.
