Stergulz accepted into prestigious national show

Local artist and instructor Richard Stergulz has been accepted in to the 16th Annual Oil Painters of America National Juried Exhibition. Several hundred entries were sent in from members across the country, with under 200 being juried into the show. This is Stergulz’s first acceptance in the show.

“It’s a very important show,” said Stergulz. “You can only submit one piece for consideration, so it has to be your best.” The exhibition runs May 11-June 9 at the Whistle Pik Gallery in Fredericksburg, TX. Opening weekend festivities will take place May 10-13.

Stergulz began drawing at the young age of 8. He graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago in the early 1980s. Stergulz teaches art in Fallbrook and does demonstrations for many art associations in the counties of San Diego and Riverside.
