CDF promotes firework safety

An Independence Day celebration can be ruined if fireworks injure a family member or friend. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF) reminds everyone that all fireworks are illegal throughout San Diego County. Their use, transportation or possession could result in a fine or jail.

CDF also advises that anyone causing a fire with fireworks would be responsible for the damages. Fireworks last only a few seconds, but the burns and other injuries they cause can last a lifetime.

Don’t celebrate the Fourth of July in the hospital. Be fire safe, not sorry!
