Anderson pushes to stop scrap metal theft

SACRAMENTO — Assemblyman Joel Anderson (R-El Cajon) has joint-authored Senate Bill 691, introduced by Senator Charles Calderon (D-Montebello), which will take strong action to stop scrap metal theft.
“Whether it’s stolen fire hydrant caps, stripped machinery or gutted automobile engines, many municipalities, businesses and citizens are being plagued by this expensive crime,” said Anderson.
Scrap metal theft costs private property owners and governments millions of dollars each year.
