Friend to appear at Archaeology Day

ESCONDIDO — The San Diego Archaeological Center is pleased to announce the return of Pat Friend for Archaeology Day, Saturday, June 14, 10 a.m. to1 p.m., sponsored in part by San Dieguito River Park.
Adobe brick, one of the earliest building materials in the Southwest, is still used today to teach children the importance of the natural world around them. Nearly 1,500 years ago, residents of what is now San Diego County began utilizing this resource to provide shelter – a basic human need. A number of historical adobe buildings still exist.
