Wil Gower turns 90

FALLBROOK — Wil Gower, one of Fallbrook’s dedicated volunteers and benefactors, recently celebrated his 90th birthday.

Gower’s impact on the community has been and still is notable. His leadership, involvement and generosity have significantly improved many facets of life in Fallbrook.

Gower has been actively involved in the effort to save Live Oak Park and helped found the Live Oak Park Coalition. He has served as chairman of the Citizens Oversight Committee for Fallbrook Union Elementary School District’s $35 million renovation of schools; on the board of the Fallbrook Community Planning Group, Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce and Legacy Endowment… the Community Foundation.

In his spare time, Gower has authored a book, “Lessons: To be Happy and Successful,” and is working on another.

Gower’s philosophy has been “Keep the faith, run the race with grace and determination. Be thankful for the many lessons learned and achieved and pass them on.”
