Paul Matthew Pastizzo

Paul Matthew Pastizzo, 40, passed away on October 11, 2008, at his home in Fallbrook. He died of natural causes resulting from a car accident in 1990. He was born on Thanksgiving morning, November 23, 1967, to Beverly J. and Emanuel E. Pastizzo. Paul graduated from Fountain Valley High School in 1986.

At the time of his accident, Paul was stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, MT. He had achieved the rank of Airman 1st Class and earned many awards, including Certificate of Achievement for Outstanding Support of Keesler Special Olympics, Outstanding Support of the Keesler Student Squadron’s Student Leader Program as a Boy Chief, an Honor Graduate at the Air Force Basic Training Military School at Lackland Air Force Base and the Airman of the Quarter from Malmstrom Air Force Base, April-May 1990.

Paul was a faithful member of Living Waters Christian Fellowship Church of God in Fountain Valley. After moving to Fallbrook he attended Living Waters Christian Fellowship Assemblies of God church and Calvary Chapel.

Paul was an outstanding and competitive player in sports most of his life. He played baseball, basketball and football. Many times he was named MVP and was on all-star teams. A dream Paul was unable to realize was marrying and having children. He was the kind of person everyone loved and who loved everybody.

Paul is survived by his parents Emanuel (Manny) and Beverly Pastizzo; brothers David and Anthony; nephews Daniel, Ian, Anthony and Joshua; niece Leia; Aunt Margaret Tafoya; cousins Alfred, Keith and Ryan Bagdon and Matthew Tafoya; uncles Michael Pastizzo, SJ, and John Pastizzo; and cousins Frank and Dominic Pastizzo, Rose Ann Rivoli, Raymond Warrick and Darlene Kislack.

Memorial services were held for Paul on October 15 at Living Waters Christian Fellowship in Fallbrook with Pastor Tim Zemanek officiating. Entombment at Camp Rosecrans in Point Loma is planned.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to North County Disabled Services, Inc., Box 1300, Fallbrook, CA 92088.
