Iowa Street School students Shannon Wortel (left) and Malia Holcombe play ancient scribes while creating an Aztec codex (book). The students simulated Aztec life in a four-week unit where they were divided into city-states and assumed the roles of Aztec citizens. All the students drew fierce Aztec masks using colored chalk.
