Fallbrook defeats Oceanside in senior cribbage match

FALLBROOK — The Fallbrook Senior Center cribbage team won the 36-player September 24 Senior Challenge Cribbage Match held at the Vista Elks Lodge. The Oceanside Senior Center team had only 61 wins to 65 for the Fallbrook team.

The top three players all had six wins with a skunk. Ethel Williams of the Fallbrook team took first place because her winning margin was the best. Second place went to Virginia Ballard of Fallbrook and third to Marty Hess on the Oceanside team.

The next four places were taken by Fallbrook players Richard Leigh, Jan Stuart, Ray Potwora and Mitzi Potwora. A $25 gift card donated by Albertsons went to Fallbrook’s Sheryl Majeski.

Monthly matches are held at the Vista Elks Lodge at 1947 East Vista Way beginning at 12:30 p.m. This month’s match will be on October 29. Note: this is different that a previously announced date.
