Fall Festival of Gems set for Oct. 2

FALLBROOK - The Fallbrook Gem and Mineral Society is holding its fifth annual Fall Festival of Gems on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Alvarado St. between Main and Mission. Admission and parking are free. The event is geared for the entire family.

Activities will include gold panning, gemstone identification, wheel of fortune, geode cracking, silent auctions, street faire, Kiwanis food booth, special exhibits and a raffle with fabulous prizes (a 5-carat spessartite garnet in custom setting, 14k gold emerald and diamond earrings, 14k gold men's lapis ring, turquoise, coral and sterling beaded necklace, large polished agate, quartz cluster on stand, petrified wood with painting, and more).

All are welcome to come explore the Earth sciences, while learning, shopping and supporting the Gem and Mineral Museum.
