New high school club promotes breast cancer awareness

FALLBROOK – The new Breast Cancer Angels club at Fallbrook High School held a Breast Cancer Poetry Reading on Nov. 17. The club was started by students McKenna DiVerde, Savannah Dawkins, and Kylie King.

The girls decided that they wanted to raise breast cancer awareness in the community of Fallbrook in a fun way that involved the students at the high school. Ronda DiVerde, Aaron Lund, and Taylor Poulin were also very involved in the planning of the event which was held at First Citizens Bank.

The main goal of the Fallbrook High School Breast Cancer Angels is to raise money for women in breast cancer treatment, and show the community that the youth in Fallbrook can make a difference. This was the first of many events to come from the club.
