Firefighters raise money for holiday meals for military

Fallbrook firefighters once again dipped into their pockets to buy family holiday meals for needy military families this season.

Led by Ben Lian and Matt Lindsey, the firefighters that work for North County Fire donated enough money for 16 family meals to be provided through Albertsons and the store contributed another nine meals to the effort so 25 families could receive a holiday meal.

Lian explained that each holiday meal provides a full dinner for a family that includes turkey, ham, side dishes, and dessert.

“We’ve done this for the past couple of years and Albertsons has really helped us out by matching a number of extra dinners for us,” said Lian.
