Free talk on spiritual healing June 30

FALLBROOK - Rob Gilbert, a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science, will give a free talk at the Fallbrook Library in the community room on Sat., June 30, at 10 a.m. The title of the talk is “God and Health.”

“Popular notions about God carry a lot of negative baggage. For instance, some feel we live in a universe poisoned with sin and condemned by an angry God,” said an organizer. “Views like this inspire little hope of divine healing and keep spirituality out of the healthcare discussion. The intent of this lecture is to correct misconceptions of God and reveal the nature of God, divine Love, to be a consistent healing Principle. The experiences of healing in this talk show how a study of the Bible along with the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, corrects misconceptions God, can secure health, and restore the body.”

Gilbert has a Master of Theology degree from Boston University School of Theology, where he majored in Biblical Studies. He is a retired Army Lt. Colonel who served as a chaplain and had a variety of assignments including a tour of duty in Viet Nam. He is a well-experienced speaker and has worked at the worldwide headquarters of Christian Science.
