Pala Poker Room to sponsor Hurricane Sandy relief tournament, Jan. 1

PALA – The Poker Room at Pala Casino Spa & Resort will sponsor a no limit charity poker tournament at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan.1 (New Year’s Day), to benefit the American Red Cross Hurricanes 2012 Fund. Funds earned will be earmarked for the victims of Hurricane Sandy in the Northeastern United States.

The $3,000 guaranteed tournament will have a $45 buy-in and a $15 entry fee. Players will start with $3,000 in chips and there will be a $25 bonus buy for an additional $5,000 in chips when purchased at registration. Blinds will be 20 minutes and re-entries will be allowed to the first three levels.

“We invite all Southern California poker players to spend New Year’s Day with us and help support the recovery from Hurricane Sandy,” said George Arsenis, Pala poker room manager.
