John Carl Bowling

John Carl Bowling, 84, passed away on September 15, 2013. He was born July 13, 1929 in Towncreek, Alabama to Minnie and Elmer Bowling.

He was a self-made man who owned an aluminum extrusion company and was a real life rags-to-riches story. In addition to being an industrialist and an inventor, John was a character who enjoyed telling stories and loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

John leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Doris Bowling; three children, John Vincent Bowling of Aguanga, Calif., Gale Bricka of Anaheim Hills, Calif., and Vickie Maxfield of Orange, Calif.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Thursday, September 19 from 4-8 p.m. at Berry-Bell & Hall Mortuary in Fallbrook, Calif., and a funeral service will be held Friday, September 20 at 10 a.m. at SonRise Christian Fellowship in Fallbrook with a reception to follow.

A graveside service will take place at Fairhaven Memorial Park 1702 E. Fairhaven Ave., Santa Ana, Calif. 92705 at 2 p.m. Friday, September 20.
