FALLBROOK – Sarah Bates, an author and writing tutor with Palomar College, will explain how to improve existing skills and learn new ones Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 4-5 p.m. at the Fallbrook Library.

“Writing for College” is a class for students seeking academic writing success. Middle school, high school, college freshman and adults returning to school or transitioning from the military to the civilian workforce will find this brief course useful.

Preparing to write at the college level begins well before a student enters college. Most students are not ready for the rigors of academic writing, but with some insight and a few tips, the journey can be made from novice to expert.

The program focuses on researching efficiently, how to recognize authentic facts and where to get help if needed.

Students will receive a handout covering the information provided in the class. Registration for the course is required. Sign up at the front desk or call (760) 731-4650.

For more information, contact librarian April Smith at (760) 731-4653. The library is located 124 S. Mission Road in Fallbrook.
