FALLBROOK – The local California Retired Teachers Association, Division 81, is pleased to announce that it has awarded Teacher Support Grants of over $2,000 to 11 local area teachers representing eight schools. Each grant is limited to $200 and will be used to purchase classroom materials such as art supplies, books, and science materials.

Dr. Alex Gonzalez, principal of Maie Ellis Elementary School, presents a CalRTA grant to Maira Armenta, Gr. 2 Spanish/English class, for classroom library books.

These grants were provided by donations from members of the local CalRTA, Division 81, which meets on the second Wednesday of the month beginning in October. Given COVID safety and health concerns, these meetings are being held via Zoom. Anyone who would like to receive the Zoom Link, can provide their email address to [email protected] All are welcome.

Additional teacher grants are available through the state CalRTA. More information can be found on the state website, calrta.org.
