Twelve Fallbrook High School football players were given all-league recognition by the Valley League coaches.

The offensive all-league first team included senior wide receiver Charlie Stallings. Three Fallbrook juniors – defensive linemen Angel Angulo and Kaleb Collings and linebacker Thomas McSheehy – were placed on the defensive first team.

Sophomore running back Marquise Washington was chosen for the offensive second team. Junior linebacker Sean Farish, sophomore linebacker Chris Bausch, and sophomore defensive back Caleb Quintero were defensive second team members.

Honorable mention status was conferred upon senior linebacker Hudson Nash, junior defensive back Jonah Saliba, junior running back Marcus Washington, and sophomore offensive lineman James Jones.

That gave Fallbrook four first-team, four second-team, and four honorable mention selections. “It’s just a steady improvement from what we’ve been doing the last few years,” said Fallbrook head coach Troy Everhart.

The 2019 Valley League first team included one Fallbrook player. Two 2020-21 Warriors including McSheehy were on the all-league first team.

“We’re getting there,” Everhart said. “It just shows the program’s heading in the right direction.”

Fallbrook posted a 2-3 Valley League record to place fourth among the six teams. The Warriors’ overall 5-7 season mark reflects a 1-1 result in the CIF playoffs.

The all-league recognition was the first in football for Stallings. “He was one of the most explosive athletes in our league,” Everhart said. “He really developed himself in the three years that I’ve been here.”

(Everhart has been Fallbrook’s head coach since 2019.)

Collings also had not previously been an all-league player. “He was consistently the best defensive player,” Everhart said.

Angulo was recognized at the honorable mention level as a sophomore. “Angel is an example of what high school football’s about,” Everhart said.

Everhart noted that Angulo’s size wasn’t impressive. “The kid also plays with a tremendous motor,” Everhart said.

McSheehy missed games due to injury this season but still repeated his first-team Valley League distinction. “I think that speaks volumes for him,” Everhart said.

Fallbrook’s four all-league sophomores gave the Warriors the most 10th-grade all-league players of any Valley League school. Only six sophomores or freshmen, including the three from Fallbrook, received a second-team berth. Everhart noted that the need to play sophomores on the varsity translates to a lack of junior and senior talent. “We’ve got to do a better job of developing our upperclassmen,” he said.

The 2021-22 Warriors had 10 seniors including one who had not previously played high school football.
