Local gymnasts excel at GymFest

On Saturday, January 22, the Fallbrook Gymnastics Club hosted the California GymFest at Universal Studios Hollywood. The event had three competitive sessions of TeamGym and a forth session of gymnastics group displays. Over 250 athletes participated and over 500 spectators watched the all-day event. Teams traveled from as far south as La Jolla and as far north as Sacramento and Half Moon Bay to take part in the GymFest. Fallbrook Gymnastics’ Boys B team took first place in their division, while the Girls B team received third place in their division. The Girls A team earned a white ribbon in their first competition and one of the highest scores in their session. (Note: Level A, the introductory level, has achievement awards based on score, not placement.) Fallbrook Gymnastics Club’s Family Performance Team was the lead act of the fourth session, which showcased gymnastic talent from many of the participating clubs. The Family Performance is made up of parents and their kids working together in the routine. There are currently three active-duty Marines who perform with the group.
