In March of 1994, Arlene Eyerman and her husband , Jim opened Eyerman’s Martial Arts in Bonsall with a vision of helping people. Arlene has loved teaching Taekwondo to kids as well as adults not only for the benefit of physical fitness and sport but for the not so obvious benefits that come from the art such as developing balance, flexibility, coordination and instilling a sense of discipline and self-confidence. The school has done very well since it opening due to the care and positive atmosphere that the instructors have given each student.

Arlene has lived in Fallbrook since she was twelve years old, moving here with her family from Lompoc, Ca. After gradating from Fallbrook High she moved out of town for several years. In 1988 she returned to become a Fallbrook home owner with her husband Jim. They have three boys, one who has married but still lives in town and the youngest attends Fallbrook High School as a sophomore this year. Arlene’s middle son continues to teach with her. Eyerman’s oldest boy was the one who actually got the family started in the martial arts with his desire to do karate. When they moved back to town they began taking lessons and one thing led to the next.

Eyerman not only has classes five and a half days a week , she also gives back to the community by giving special self defense seminars to groups, such as the boy scouts, girl scouts, private schools, FHS varsity cheerleaders, and many more.

She stated, “I think it is important to contribute to the world by helping people improve themselves so they may improve their life and be successful in whatever they may decide to do. I feel if I left this world tomorrow, I would have made a difference in so.”

Now with owning the school for over 10 years Arlene Eyerman again has reached out to help others by recently selling her school to one of her students, Andy Kramer. She will remain the head instructor in charge of instruction and it is her hopes to help Andy Kramer continue making a difference in the lives of all who step through those doors.
