Felix new Bonsall superintendent

Jeff Felix will assume the role of Superintendent of Bonsall Unified School District (BUSD) on October 25, filling the shoes of Jef Schleiger, who has retired from the district. Felix comes from Escondido’s San Pasqual Union School District (SPUSD), where he was a superintendent/principal.

“After ten years at [SPUSD] it was time for a change for both the organization and for me. BUSD seemed like the perfect choice, since the community was similar in attitude and the challenges facing the organization were exciting to me,” said Felix. “I have lived in North County all my life and truly love this area.”

Felix, who says he believes in making the world a better place and “focusing on the strengths of people,” has been an educator since 1985 and was honored as Superintendent/Principal of the Year in 2004 by the Association of California Administrators and the California School Boards Association. He is currently working on his doctorate in educational leadership, which he is scheduled to complete next year.

“My goal over the next few months is to create opportunities for the community to get to know me. It is important for me to listen to the needs of the community and report back what I hear to the school board,” said Felix. “My door will always be open and I will always be available to talk regardless of the subject.”
