'Birds of a Feather' host celebration

An event for junior enlisted Marine spouses was held at the Abby Reinke Community Center in December. It was hosted by Beverly DeVilbiss, assisted by members of Rally for Children and friends. The festive celebration began with a tea and a delicious luncheon prepared and served by Nancy Ruiz and Susan Abbott. A chocolate fountain provided everyone with a delectable dessert.

The fashion show, presented by Leslie Sommers with fashions from Caravan, was modeled by five women who showed fun and exotic clothing and accessories. They received many rounds of applause. Other entertainment consisted of a talented belly dancer, Marqui, who convinced the young wives to dance the scarf dance with her.

While the ladies were eating lunch, a number of the helpers held and entertained the young tots while their mothers received facials by Arbonne, represented by Donna Reisbeck-Stower.

The celebration was concluded by dancing the Macarena led by the creative Barbara Ajello. As the ladies left they were loaded down with gift certificates and other merchandise from a number of local merchants. This event was, indeed, a success and brought much joy to those who attended.
