'History on the Rocks' explores San Pasqual Valley

ESCONDIDO — The San Diego Archaeological Center is pleased to announce a presentation by Kathleen Dickey, Center Research Intern, on Saturday, October 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This Second Saturday Visiting Scholar presentation is the second of a two-part series on the archaeology and history of the San Pasqual Valley.

Dickey will provide an overview of the precontact setting and a timeline of significant historical events that occurred in the vicinity of the San Diego Archaeological Center (formerly the San Pasqual Union School).

Admission to this lecture is free to Center members; there is a suggested donation for non-members. People who become a member on the day of the program will enjoy discounts on this and future events at the Center.

The Center is located in the historic San Pasqual Valley at 16666 San Pasqual Valley Road, adjacent to the Wild Animal Park and Battlefield State Park.

Admission to the Center and museum is free to the public during regular operating hours Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call (760) 291-0370.
