Savage recognized for volunteer work

FALLBROOK — Fallbrook Music Society’s Board of Directors recently presented Chuck Savage with its Volunteer of the Year award for his many years of service to the organization.

The award was presented on November 8 during the North County Philanthropy Council’s 21st Annual Volunteer Awards luncheon at the California Center for the Performing Arts in Escondido.

Savage was selected for this prestigious award for his many years of dedication, service and accomplishments for the Music Society.

“Chuck is a seasoned executive with and exemplary track record who knows our organization well,” said Brenda Montiel, president of Fallbrook Music Society. “He has greatly contributed to our organization and we are grateful for the counsel and support he has provided us over the past several years.”

A former chemical engineer, Savage retired after serving with Mobil Oil for 35 years, plus five years as a consultant. He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Society of Automotive Engineers and Alpha Chi Sigma Professional. He is also a master bridge player. He lives in Fallbrook with his wife, Jeannine.

Fallbrook Music Society, currently celebrating its 30th anniversary, presents an annual series of professional orchestral and chamber concerts as well as music education for Fallbrook’s elementary, junior high and high school students.
