Free classes for cancer patients

The American Cancer Society will offer a series of free monthly classes by teleconference entitled “I Can Cope” for cancer patients and caregivers.

The next session will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, and will cover “Managing the Effects of Illness and Treatment.”

Participants can call in by phone from the privacy of their home or office. The volunteer facilitator is Donna Anderson, LCSW.

Information on nutrition, stress, strategies for managing concerns and recommendations for patients and caregivers will be provided by a medical professional. Upcoming “I Can Cope” sessions will address self-esteem and intimacy. Patients will have an opportunity to ask questions.
