Dancers ages 8-18 can audition for 'Cats'

FALLBROOK — Actors, singers and dancers between the ages of 8 and 18 will soon have the opportunity to audition for the exclusive North County premiere of “Cats.”

Auditions for the Fallbrook Players’ production will be held Saturday, January 3, and Sunday, January 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. both days, although those auditioning need only come to one of the audition days.

Auditions will be held at the Ballet Society of North County, located at 325 North Brandon Road. Detailed information may be found at http://www.fallbrookplayers.com or by calling (760) 728-0998.

“Cats” will have a limited engagement at Fallbrook’s Mission Theatre from March 20 through April 5.

Tickets for the school shows on Thursday, March 19, are available, but space is limited. Teachers are encouraged to contact Fallbrook Players soon to arrange seating for their classrooms.

Allisan Whitman, the award-winning director and choreographer for “Cats,” said recently that she is very excited to be working on the show.

“I have never seen so much fervor surrounding a show this far out from the production dates. This is not your everyday youth theater production,” she said. “These kids are going to really develop their skills and be much better performers because they were lucky enough to be in ‘Cats.’ This show didn’t sell out on Broadway for 21 years for nothing!”
