Marching Warriors to hold March-a-Thon Aug. 30

FALLBROOK – On Aug. 30, Fallbrook High School Marching Warriors and Color Guard will be holding a five-hour “March-a-Thon” on Saturday, Aug. 30 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the high school stadium. They are gearing up for a tremendous year!

They just finished three weeks of an intense summer band camp to prepare for upcoming fall competitions, and anticipate attending the National Championships in Fresno this year.

In order to support the music program, they must raise much-needed funds. This year, the Marching Warriors have decided to try something different. With hopes of raising at least $5000, these funds will help pay for instruments, coaches, uniforms, band scholarships, as well as other program costs.

While each student will be asking friends and relatives for support, they are also inviting anyone in the community to support their fundraising efforts. As an incentive, their band director, Victor Torres, has agreed to have his head shaved by the student raising the most funds!

Looking ahead, the band has been given the honor of being invited to march in London’s 2016 New Year’s Day Parade. The students are truly seeing the rewards of hard work and determination.

To help the students and the music program, donations can be sent directly to the PO Box, or can be made on-line.
