'America's Got Talent' finalist released after posting bail

HOLLYWOOD - An ''America's Got Talent'' finalist was out on bail and awaiting a court hearing after being arrested on suspicion

of domestic violence.

Michael Ketterer, 41, was taken into custody at 3:45 p.m. Thursday by officers who responded to a domestic dispute call and noticed a red mark on his girlfriend's body, according to Officer Tony Im with the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Division. The exact location of Ketterer's arrest was not disclosed.

Ketterer posted $50,000 bail Friday and was released from custody, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department jail records showed.

Ketterer told the celebrity website TMZ, which first reported the news, that he and his girlfriend got into an argument in their hotel room and called the situation a ''misunderstanding.''

Ketterer, a pediatric mental health nurse from Tennessee and father of six children, placed fifth in the singing competition.

Ketterer is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 19.
