Award-winning watercolor artist featured Feb. 13

FALLBROOK – The next general meeting of the Fallbrook Art Association will be held Wednesday, Feb. 13, in the community room of the Fallbrook Library at 124 S. Mission Rd.

A special ‘Eat ‘n Critique’ session will begin at 5:30 p.m. Attendees may bring two “in-process” paintings to receive helpful suggestions from the featured demonstration artist, Shuang Li.

The general meeting and demonstration will begin between 6:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served before the meeting. Guests are welcome to attend for $5.

Born and raised in China, Shuang Li received a B.A degree in graphic design and M.A in art theory and history in Beijing before moving to the United States in 1988. She then received her master of fine art degree from The Department of Art, University of Oregon.

Though trained as a graphic designer, Shuang has been solely focusing on transparent watercolor as her primary medium in recent years. Her watercolor landscapes are rich in color and poetic atmosphere with striking scenes.

Shuang will also lead a workshop (fee charged) Sunday, Feb. 24, from noon to 4 p.m. in the library community room. For more information about Fallbrook Art Association and its upcoming events, see http://www.fallbrookartassn.org, or call Karen Langer Baker at (760) 728-2244.
