  • Obamacare provides for only two classes of people

    Updated Jun 3, 2010

Sean Hannity’s book ‘Conservative Victory,’ page 65, states that the Democrats most shameless power grab is contained in the Senate health care bill. Senate majority leader Harry Reid inserted an amendment into this bill to make the bills proposed Independent Medicare Advisor Board (IMAB) unrepealable. This “amendment would change certain Senate rules to prohibit future Congresses from repealing the IMAB (which some refer to as a death panel) […] Obama’s Senate is trying to make their provision for death panels unrepealabl...

The girls finished number two in the nation and the boys finished number five in the nation! This is the first time...

  • Judicial candidates

    Updated Jun 3, 2010

The judicial candidates who recently appeared at a nonpartisan “Meet your Candidates” forum to field questions before over 120 citizens were quite refreshing. It was the first time in memory that judicial candidates have taken the time and the effort to face the voters whose vote they seek. It has been difficult to choose between judicial candidates in the past because of the scant amount of information available and the nearly non-existent appearances. Judicial candidates Trask, Coleman, Kincaid and Candelore support our...

  • USMC needs to put Hutchins matter to rest

    Updated Jun 3, 2010

The USMC’s treatment of Sgt. Larry Hutchins isn’t endearing them to the American people. Sergeant Hutchins was, and still is, a good Marine. His original conviction was overturned and he was reinstated from Private to the rank of Sergeant. The USMC has been keeping him in solitary at Camp Pendleton and, when people go to visit him, he is in handcuffs and behind glass. This conduct on the part of the Marine Corps is criminal and is absolutely forbidden in civilian prisons. All the rest of the Pendleton 8 is out of the mil...

  • Fallbrook garden tour was the best

    Updated Jun 3, 2010

Our family spent a most enjoyable day at the Fallbrook Garden Tour, held by the Fallbrook Garden Club recently. All the gardens were magnificent. The selection of the gardens was well planned with a unique design and theme for each garden. We particularly enjoyed having artists and musicians showcasing their arts at the homes. We had recently visited garden tours in Malibu and Venice and the Fallbrook tour was by far the best. Keep up the good work! Selina Cheng Malibu...

  • Dear President Obama

    Updated Jun 3, 2010

I am planning to move my extended family to Mexico, and I would like you to assist me. We’re planning to walk across the border into Mexico, and we’ll need your help. We plan to skip the legal stuff, like visas, passports, and immigration quotas and laws. I am sure they handle those things the same way we do here. So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Calderon, that I am leaving now? I will be expecting the following: free medical care for my entire family; English-speaking government bureaucrats for all ser...

  • Illegal means illegal

    Updated Jun 3, 2010

I watched CNN the other day and saw an interview of an ex-Secretary of State regarding Arizona’s new stand on immigration. Neither the interviewer, nor the ex-Secretary of State once mentioned the word “illegal” when talking of immigrants. What is it with some people that they have difficulty calling a spade, a spade? My solution to the immigration problem is as follows: Notify all illegal aliens through the TV or the media that all “illegals” in this country must notify the US government of their location and status im...

  • Mexico's president does not like Arizona's new law

    Updated Jun 3, 2010

Yet if you go today to Mexico without a passport, you go to jail. If you go to Mexico a second time, no passport, he puts you in jail for 10 years. Just think if America had done that years ago, there would be no one illegal in America today. We are now stuck with 12 million illegals, so many on welfare and our medical clinics are overloaded with illegals that cost the American tax payers over 400 billion dollars per year. That could be a low figure. This government will never tell us the truth of how much it really cost the...

  • Vote to replace Horn

    Updated Jun 3, 2010

I see the Bill Horn “spin doctors” are working overtime in the press. It’s usual for Horn to have his staff write letters to local papers saying how great he is. How you can tell is because it sounds like a talking points memo written by his spokesman. Remember reading articles about Horn’s illegal alien employee situation? Remember his minor real estate issue and allegations of an affair with his chief of staff? Remember stories of Hornville and his reportedly “shady” dealings to get things approved? Remember the 1997 fires?...

  • Elect Gronke on June 8

    Updated Jun 3, 2010

District 5 has an opportunity to elect a new County Supervisor on June 8. Please, elect Steve Gronke. He has experience as a Vista councilman and on the San Diego Association of Government’s planning board. Steve wants to stop the slush fund; it’s not good use of your tax dollars. He supports term limits for County Supervisors. Steve will continue the fight against dense urban developments in rural and agricultural areas. Haven’t you had enough of Horn? I feel Horn would rather use our diminishing water supply to build house...
