Huber completes Eagle Scout project

FALLBROOK — Cameron Huber of Boy Scout Troop 737 recently completed his Eagle Scout project. The project was to design, build, paint, and mount five display boxes for the front of the building of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. The VFW has been the charter organization for troop 737 for 60 years. These boxes now display the emblems of the five branches of the military. Cameron recruited the help of fellow scouts Corey Meram, Spencer Lingo, Daren Huber, Travis Knox, and Jared Chavez. Friends Shannon Cone and Alex Peterson also helped. Adult helpers were Keith and Laurie Huber, Jim Knoll, Tim Ritter, Bob Hancock, Les Fulcher, Dave Dering, and Bruce Parrish. The project took nine months to complete and 241 total volunteer man-hours, 104 of which were Cameron’s. Dave Dering of the VFW also installed display lights so the emblems can be seen at night. The boxes and emblems give to the building a new distinguished appearance and honor the men and women who have served and are serving in our country’s military.
