Laura Marion Tripp Bonham

Laura Marion Tripp Bonham passed peacefully from this life at the age of 95 on November 25, 2006, at her home in Fallbrook, CA. Laura was born on February 28, 1911, on the family homestead in Radec, CA, close to Aguanga. She was the fifth living child born to Maud Jones Tripp and Daniel Jackson Tripp. In 1927 Daniel Tripp sold his ranch and moved his now family of 10 (two adults and eight children) to San Jacinto, CA.

Laura excelled academically and graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1929. She entered nurse’s training that same year at the San Diego County Hospital. She graduated and became a Registered Nurse. In 1932 she married LeRoy Bonham. They were married until he passed in April of 1987.

Laura is survived by two of her three children, Hank Bonham of San Diego and Betsy Shirkey of Fallbrook; one sister, Jewell Roberds of Fallbrook; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She donated her remains to the UCSD Medical School. Laura was an inspiration to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
