The journey continues

The 2006-2007 FFA State Judging Team Finals, held in San Luis Obispo, was an event that chapters from all over California traveled to attend. This is an annual contest that is looked forward to all year by FFA members who participate in Career Development Events, also known as judging teams. This year, Fallbrook FFA took five different teams up to this event.

To qualify, the teams had to place in the top three at a regional contest. We were extremely successful this year and Fallbrook was well represented. The OH team placed fifth, the Specialty Animals team placed sixth, the Farm Records team placed 11th, the BIG team placed third and the Vegetable Crops team placed seventh. Congratulations to all members who participated in this contest!

One of the events coming up soon is the Youth Fair, held May 19-20, which is a practice fair for the Fallbrook youth who will exhibit animals at the San Diego County Fair. All members of the community are more than welcome to attend. It will be held at the Fallbrook Union High School Agriculture Department and will be a fun-filled weekend if activities the whole family can enjoy. This year, Fox 6 Morning News will be doing a segment on the Fallbrook Youth Fair, so tune in and see how the youth of today is changing tomorrow.

We are coming closer to the end of the year but Fallbrook FFA members are still working hard to get ready for the upcoming events.
