Aulos Ensemble to perform in Fallbrook

FALLBROOK — The spirited Aulos Ensemble, one of America’s preeminent early music ensembles, will be joined by soprano Julianne Baird for a special Baroque Christmas concert on Friday, December 7, at 8 p.m.

This chamber music concert, performed on “original instruments,” will feature traditional carols, instrumental noëls, cantatas with arias of Bach, Vivaldi and Rameau and a program the Aulos has performed at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Formed in 1973 by five Juilliard graduates, leaders in the revival of “period” instruments repertoire, this acclaimed group currently conducts extensive concert tours nationally and maintains a regular performance schedule at home in New York City, featuring collaborations with leading artists in period and baroque performance from both the United States and Europe.

This is the first Christmas concert ever presented by Fallbrook Music Society and is one of 10 concerts that will be presented in the 2007-2008 30th anniversary season.

The Aulos Ensemble will perform in the Bob Burton Center for the Performing Arts, 2400 South Stage Coach Lane. Tickets can be purchased by calling (760) 451-8644 or online at http://www.fallbrookmusicsociety.org.
