Join in 9/11 remembrance

FALLBROOK — Residents are invited to don their patriotic-colored shirts and hats and attend the 9/11 remembrance ceremony on September 11.

The ceremony will be held in the CAST parking lot in the 200 block of North Main. It will begin with church bells ringing at 11 a.m. and finish with bagpipes playing at 12:15 p.m.

“We’re excited to have community groups come together to lift up this day in music, dance, poems, speeches and prayer,” said event chairperson Patty Hornsveld.

Preparations are being made to feature groups such as the VFW Color Guard, Fallbrook Chorale, CAST Performance Dance Team and students from Maie Ellis Elementary School. The public is welcome; no admission charge.

The Fallbrook Republican Women also invite everyone to join them at 10 a.m. for a ‘Remember 9/11’ walk from their headquarters at 131 West Beech Street down Main to the CAST parking lot. Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and bring flags to carry.
