14th annual 'Christmas in the Air' concert slated for Dec. 7 and 8

TEMECULA – The Southwest Women’s Chorus will present its 14th annual ‘Christmas in the Air’ concert on Dec. 7 and 8 at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater.

On Dec. 7, the concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.; on Dec. 8, the program begins at 2 p.m.

The concert will feature the chorus’ traditional mix of classical, familiar and unfamiliar carols and other Christmas songs, spirituals, gospel, and audience sing-alongs.

Some highlights will be a little-known “Te Deum Laudamus,” by the baroque composer Sacchini; a lovely, modern carol from the 60’s, a slow heart-felt gospel song, plenty of audience sing-alongs, an exciting religious folk song from Kenya, and a lively double-chorus a cappella spiritual.

The chorus will once again be joined by the Wings of Praise youth gospel choir, who will present three of their own songs plus join in some others. This is a great family concert.

Tickets are $18/adults, $15/senior and military, and $11 students. Children under 2 must have a ticket to enter the theater (babes ticket). For more information, call (866) 653-8696.
