John McClain (Jack)

John McClain (Jack), born February 7, 1915, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2005, after a lengthy illness.

He will be remembered by his many buddies at the Fallbrook Golf Club for his dedication to the game, as well as the Fallbrook Rotary Club for his many years of service.

Before moving to Champagne Village Mobile Home Park in Escondido he had been active in the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce, having served as President in 1982.

He was an original founder and director of the Fallbrook National Bank, which is now the Community National Bank.

His World War II service was with the Army 102nd Armored Division, having served from 1944 to 1946.

He retired in 1977 after 27 years with the family corporation of Roofing Contractors in Los Angeles.

He is survived by his best friend and devoted wife of 65 years, Ruth McClain, his son Greg McClain, granddaughter Lacey McClain and her mother Judy McClain, and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Max and Helen McClain of Ojai and Jim and Martha McClain of Palm Desert, plus many beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at the Champagne Village Hall, just south of Lawrence Welk Re
