    2:03 a.m. Update: Village News reached out to the surrounding business' and spoke with Carmen Maya. Carmen saw the reported missing woman as she was opening the door at a local eye doctor and was able to recognize her by the description given by SD Sheriff Helicopter. It has been confirmed that the missing woman has been found, safe. A 94-yr-old woman at risk was reported to have walked away from her daughter's car in the 500 block of Elder this morning.   • Suspicious circumstance call leads to finding a man under a tarp

    At 12:53 pm today, Feb 22, there was a Suspicious circumstance call that came into the Sheriff's department. A couple of tarps were lying in the field at the corner of S. Mission. It appeared there may be a body under on of the tarps and, indeed, there was a man who was homeless from out of town, according to people on the scene. He appeared to be ok.     A utility pole snapped and lines were down on Tecalote Drive in Fallbrook in the early morning hours of Tuesday. The cause is suspected to be wind, but it hasn't been confirmed.   • Vehicle accident causes residents to lose power

    At about 11 pm on Sunday night, a vehicle ran into a power pole causing an outage to eight homes near Alvarado in the 1700 block where the accident happened. A fire hydrant was also hit, causing a geyser. SDG&E reported that power would be fully restored by Monday at 4pm, however, some residents reported that power was restored before 4 am Monday and internet is still out.   • NCFPD rescues woman injured while riding horse

    North County Fire responded to a rescue in Sandia Creek. A woman was injured while riding her horse. She had apparently injured her hip and was unable to stand or walk. The NCFPD first responders were able to carry the rider out of the valley and the creek area and transport her to a local hospital.   • Armed robbery reported in downtown Fallbrook

    Today Sheriff's deputies were actively searching for an armed robber that fled on foot after robbing a business in the 200 block of W. Aviation. According to Lt. Wisniewski, there may have been an argument in the business and a male was reported to have attempted to stab the employee. The employee was able to take a kitchen knife away from the man befire he fled on foot with $200.     UPDATE: The County Medical Examiner's office has identified the deceased man who passed away in the abandoned home at 1307 E. Mission on January 28, as 25-year-old Xavier Villa. He had a nickname of Klepto, according to the SDSO Media Relations Lt. Collins, it was a suspected overdose. Those interviewed on the morning of the death stated that the cause was likely a fentanyl overdose. The Medical Examiner's office reports that the death is still under investigation.   • 2000 customers lose power in Fallbrook

    A power outage for 2008 customers has resulted from a traffic accident reported at 10:39 am this morning. There are downed power lines on Alvarado St. The outage was expected to last until 4 pm, however many homes were restored by 11:40 am.
