At Pala Rd and just east of Horse Ranch Creek Rd, a head-on collision left four people dead. A fifth person was reported to have survived and transported to a local hospital in serious condition. Palomar Health Medical Group has shut down its phone lines and patient portal while it investigates “suspicious activity on certain computer systems within its network.” Fallbrook’s Graybill Medical Group is part of PHMG and is included in this shutdown. A call came in at 8:32 am this morning of an armed suspicious person inside the Hearth coffee shop in the 100 block of Main Ave. Fallbrook Sheriffs arrived and questioned the man, who appeared to be older, maybe in his 70s. This morning, April 11th, at approximately 10:12 a.m. North County Fire received a call for a truck that exploded and caught fire while driving south on De Luz Rd. Officials on the scene have contained the situation but all traffic has been stopped at De Luz and Patton Oak Rd. so Adams' Tow could move through and clear out the charred remains of the truck. A white Nissan sedan's engine caught fire on the right-hand shoulder of the eastbound side of SR 76 near North River Rd. at about 6:20 pm on Friday, causing the 2nd lane to be closed.
