Traffic was affected for several hours on the SR 78 near El Camino Real when at 4:13 pm a black sedan collided at a high rate of speed with a large construction tractor that was parked on the side of the road. There was a fire reported at the old El Jardin restaurant property, 1561 S. Mission at 5:02 pm tonight. North County firefighters arrived on the scene to find the vegetation on fire outside the building. Deputies stated that it was more than likely started from a transient. The driver of the VW, Patricia, had just left Rite Aid pharmacy and was headed home when the accident happened.
