  • The badge represents thousands of good men and women

    Updated Jun 18, 2020

The discouragement on my son’s face yesterday brought me to tears. The career he has been so proud to be part of he now feels like no one cares, he’s not just unwanted or unappreciated, but hated. He blocked roads for two nights so that protesters could march safely. He was still cussed at and disrespected, yet he is doing his job making sure everyone is protected. He and his brothers and sisters of blue have been defunded and hated for a few horrible officers who now seem to represent them all. We need to back the badge as...

  • To the graduates of 2020

    Updated Jun 18, 2020

We are proud of you, and so should you be of yourselves. High school graduation reflects your accomplishment following 12 years of hard work, perseverance, as well as overcoming many challenges, and at times setbacks, as none of us are able to display strengths in every academic arena. Equally, there have been joys in friendships and, at times, disappointments in this important aspect of your educational experience. And some may have had additional challenges and burdens as well to overcome – whether it be financial h...

  • Dear Ms Reeder

    Updated Jun 18, 2020

As a subscriber of the Village News for years I am extremely pleased with the direction you have taken this paper. I started taking the Village News for local updates and the Sheriff’s Log. But since the move into a more widely encompassing platform, I am thrilled with the balance of local, state and national news. I find it to be fair and balanced, a refresher from years of the brutal, extremely left leaning Union Tribune which I finally canceled. Thanks for introducing me to the Epoch Times. I find it to be a much better s...

  • Making more progress

    Supervisor Jim Desmond, 5th District|Updated Jun 18, 2020

Last week, I took a tour of Fit Athletic and Gym, which is the largest privately owned gym in San Diego. Fit opened their doors for the first time in 90 days June 15. While it’s long overdue, I’m glad to see Fit and other local businesses are finally reopening. I want to tell all the business owners, all the employees and everyone who’s struggled over the last three months, thank you. Thank you for being patient, thank you for submitting safety business proposals and thank...

  • Re: 'White privilege under scrutiny' [Village News, Letter, 6/11, 20]

    Updated Jun 18, 2020

Thank you, Julie for such a well-researched opinion article. There are several prominent black men who agree, but the MSN does everything they can to suppress their common sense views. Keep up the good work, never kneel or apologize for an opinion that may not be popular at the moment. James Boyd...

No, it wasn't the way Fallbrook Union High School Principal Dr. Narciso Iglesias envisioned sending the first batch of seniors under his watch off to the next chapter of life.
